Volunteering as a Medical Professional at SOS:

Physicians and Physician Assistants:

  1. Provide direct patient care under the supervision of the Medical Director, in line with normal licensing guidelines for physician assistants
  2. Provide copy of current DEA and State Medical License on a regular basis
  3. Work with other physicians and nurses as a team for the overall benefit of the patients

Nurses (RN, LPN):

  1. Document initial vital signs and document the chief complaint and short history of present illness, discuss the patient with the PA or physician prior to seeing patient
  2. Assist the physician or the PA with exams and procedures as requested
  3. Speak with patients of the phone concerning medical concerns, lab, x-ray. and imaging results
  4. Work under the supervision of the Medical Director, other physicians and nurses as a team for the overall benefit of the patients 

If you are a medical professional, theses are the documents you will need to provide to be certified to work for the SOS Clinic:

Physicians and Physician Assistants:

  1. Copy of current state medical license (updated annually)
  2. Copy of current valid DEA registration and #
  3. Other (ACLS, ATLS, PALS, etc.)
  4. Copy of current resume (CV)

Nurses:

  1. Copy of current state nursing license
  2. Other (ACLS, PALS, etc.)
  3. Copy of current resume (CV)
